Angie Keefer

Artist Angie Keefer is an artist, writer, teacher, and publisher, who produces objects, images, texts, talks, performances, and public programs, often in collaboration with other artists and institutions. Most recently, her sculptural and video work was exhibited and a text, Equivocus, published as part of Greater New York, MoMA PS1 (2016). She has also recently exhibited at Kunstverein Munich (2015); Whitney Biennial, New York (2014); Liverpool Biennial (2014); and Objectif Exhibitions, Antwerp (2013-14); while her talks and performances have been staged at Artists Space, New York (2015); Witte de With, Rotterdam (2013); and São Paulo Biennial (2012); among others. In October 2016, a new performance and video work, Being the measure, created with Peruvian artist, David Zink-Yi, will premiere at Williams College Museum of Art. In 2010, with Dexter Sinister, Ms. Keefer co-founded The Serving Library, a not-for-profit artists’ organization dedicated to publishing, and, via publishing, to building an institutional archive of objects and texts to serve artist-run education. The Serving Library currently resides in Liverpool, where it produces a monthly program of events and bi-annual curriculum week for visiting artist-students in cooperation with art and design schools. Ms. Keefer is co-editor of The Bulletins, the bi-annual journal of The Serving Library, and regularly contributes to HDM, the journal of the Harvard School of Design, as well as Mousse, and numerous artist publications. She received a BA in art from Yale University in 1999, where she studied sculpture and she lives in upstate New York.
